In 1954, Abraham Wilson and Gloria Bachman commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design a house. Gloria’s brother, Marvin Bachman, was an apprentice in the Frank Lloyd Wright Fellowship and at the time working on the Shavin House, in Chattanooga, TN.

After the Wilsons visited the Shavins and helped them move into their new home, Abe and Gloria were so impressed by the design that they wrote to Mr. Wright, asking him to design a house for them.

Frank Lloyd Wright replied:

“I suppose I am still here to try to do houses for such as you.”
